When I was younger, I felt that the music you listened to defined you somehow. So I'd always ask people about their musical taste upon meeting, hoping for their tastes to overlap with mine if I dug them otherwise. Certain people would answer, "Oh, I like all styles of music," which ellicited frustration and distrust in this person.
